ETTA VON STEIN
INDUCTED 1984
Dear Committee Chairperson:
We would like to submit the name of Etta Vonstein for one of the special
awards to be presented by the local association this year. We feel that
of all the persons in Hamilton who have bowled for many years, that Etta
is one of the nicest persons and one who has always been interested in
promoting the sport of bowling among men and women , old and young.
She has been instrumental in forming many leagues during the forty odd
years that she has been a member of the association. She has held all
league offices, but mainly has served as league secretary.
Even though she is in her late seventies, she is still bowling in three
night time leagues and is in the senior citizen league at Columbia Lanes.
Her average is still a respectable 150-160 and she is quite capable of
bowling high scores. Her teams are always one of the contenders for the
league championship each year.
Etta is always available to offer advice and instruction to all who
ask, and this means a lot to the new bowlers in her leagues. She is
always first to offer congratulations on any high score rolled in her
leagues, and especially congratulates the low average bowler on bowling a
high score.
She is really a joy to bowl with and feel she should be one of the
first recipients of your award.
Sincerely,
Etta's Fans
