INDUCTED JUNE 1993

And now for our member of the year award. This one is really a hard one to keep secret this year for she was a member of this committee. We kept telling her that no one had been nominated for this honor. I hope she believed us. Of course,after tonight, she'll never believe anything we tell her,

This lady has been a member of this association for more years than she claims to be old. She started out bowling at the Y, I think, (or was it the Moose or the Fenmont or was it the Stones--I'm not sure.. She started her work with the association when her son decided to join a junior league--It wasn't YABA then. She soon became a member of the JUNIOR BOARD of DIRECTORS and was secretary for several years. Soon she became active in the affairs of the GREATER HAMILTON WBA and when Vi Windsor decided not to seek re-election as Association Secretary, she accepted the nomination and won the election for that position--an office she held for 12 years. She is currently serving as a director on the GHWBA Board of Directors.She was one of the orginal members of the BOWLING COUNCIL and serves as secretary of that organization. In her duties as Association secretary, she served as Tournament director for the annual GHWBA Championship Tournaments, also saw that the office was run well for the annual Funday Acvtivities, answered questions by the thousands as she accepted phone calls at all hours of the day and night. She attends all local and State events if at all possible. She bowls in two leagues and still manages to be available to help those of us who need her typing skills or yell for help with a committee assignment. When our Association Secretary quit earlier this year,she was right there volunteering her help in any way she could. That is the way she is--always ready to lend a helping hand wherever she is needed.

Therefore we are proud to ,offer the name of Edna Zellner to you for induction in the HALL OF FAME as the 1993 MEMBER OF THE YEAR.
