HELEN GRACE
INDUCTED 1985
This year we were fortunate to have five persons nominated for this
award, and as we said before the selection was a difficult one to make
but we think the person to receive this award tonight really deserves the
receiving of it.
This bowler has been around for many years, in fact she was here when
they decided to form this Hamilton Association. She was sgt.-at-arms
1940-1942 then she became association secretary in 1942 and held that
office until 1957. She has served as our delegate to both State and
National conventions for many years. She has also served as an officer on
the Ohio Women's Bowling Association and four years ago was elected
Member Emeritus of the OWBA. For the past nine or ten years she has
served the association as Lane Representive for Fairfield Lanes.Even
though she no longer holds an office with the GHWBA she is a life member,
and as such attends all meetings of the board and serves as ex-officio
member of many committees. She is a joy to be around and we are really
glad that when her husband retired and they moved to Florida they decided
that they really wanted to live in the Hamilton-Fairfield area. They came
here and she picked up her bowling activities where she left off, helping
all those she came into contact with to have fun while enjoying the game.
Above all she is truly a 'Good Sport" in all that the title implies.
I'm sure she knows who we are speaking of by now, so I'm asking Etta to
please escort this Member Of The Year forward so I can present Helen
Grace to all of you and introduce her as our honor guest for this
evening.
